I wrapped my camera in tinfoil once…got the shot.
I always thought my dream was to be a professional trumpet performer. It seemed appropriate considering I was the trumpet section leader and band president my senior year of high school. But then I took AP Music Theory and was immediately not feeling it. So with my whole world crumbling before my eyes, I knew it was back to the drawing board on deciding what my career would be. Naturally I did what any 18 year old in 2011 would do...I procrastinated and watched YouTube videos. At some point on my YouTube binge I came across a channel titled Corridor Digital where they made short action films that were high energy and jam packed with visual effects.
And that's when it happened; the spark I was missing ignited the second I hit play on one of their videos. That procrastinating session lead me to a passion that I didn't know existed. Since then, I can't get enough. Film calls to all of my passions; it incorporates creativity, problem solving, technology, organization, and experimentation. I decided to dive deep and attend The University of Texas at Arlington where I earned a BFA in Film/Video/Screenwriting in 2016.
I love all aspects of filmmaking. I took a keen interest in cinematography, there's just something special to being able to craft a beautiful scene with lights and a camera. I guess you could say that I'm "pretty light" minded. Beyond that, I turned my interest to producing. There are those people that love organization on an extreme level, I'm one of those people. So you could say that producing comes pretty natural to me, I take the opportunity to produce any chance that I get. A recent passion of mine that I have been exploring is the art of color grading. The ability to create different looks to convey different emotions is just so unfair to the audience I had to be the mastermind behind that power.
My skills include; Cinematography: camera techniques, Canon, Sony, Blackmagic, DJI, drone videography, gimbal operation. Gaffing: Arri, Aputure, Kino Flo. Audio recording: Sennheiser, Rode, Sanken, Zoom h4N, Zoom h6N, Zoom f8, Tascam. Editing: Adobe, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Indesign, Adobe Audition, DaVinci Resolve Studio. Computer OS: Apple, Microsoft Windows. Programs: Excel, Word, Power Point, Frame.io, Google Sheets, Dropbox, Workfront, Creative Force, Zoom, Slack.
